People often get anxious as the year draws to a close, particularly parents who have to determine how to raise the cash needed to get all those presents and finance the fun activities their kids would expect.
But residents of some suburbs of Lagos has been introduced to a whole new level of end-of-year anxiety, as reports indicate amongst all the presents they have to buy for friends and family, the armed robbers in the area has also written to them demanding their share.
A Trent News report indicates that copies of the letters purported to be written by the armed robbers were found floating through the townships involved early one morning, and people who picked them up to read received the shock of their lives.
The letter indicated that the people should get their end of year presents ready, and that they would come around for them. Failure to do so would yield disastrous results.
“Be prepared, be prepared, be prepared. Our dues must be paid this festive season. Nobody can stop us as we can strike at any time. Only enough money can save your life”
“To be forewarned is to be fore-harmed. We have warned you in this area, and if you have ears, you ought to hear.”
Such a brazen warning is such a breach of protocol from these armed robbers I’m left wondering who sat down to come up with this concept. But it seems this festive season is going to be extra worrisome for these towns and law enforcement must be brought in.
Also those robbers should work on their spelling.
