Going into the definition of a celebrity will take much of my time and the fact we all know who a celebrity is means it’s pretty irrelevant at this stage.
I’ve had people in the past asking me if we have celebrities in Ghana too—sort of a paradox, a lame and an intelligent question.
For whatever reason, actress-Lydia Forson is in the news for saying on ETV that she is not a celebrity; rather she is a filmmaker and an artiste.
I am not sure where the confusion is but I don’t have a problem with her claim of NOT being something, if she had claimed to be something which she was not, then we would probably have knocked her off the bicycle for falsehood…
Anyway, the question is; in your own estimation and understanding of the world celebrity, is Lydia Forson right? And do we have any celebrity in Ghana at all? If yes, who fits in the celebrity box?
