I think I am the longest serving ‘singleton’ on this blog as I’ve been single and going on horrible dates for the last 5 years.
Maybe I need to cut down my expectations and go with the flow as many women do—and begin to take the BS that today’s men thing is the definition of cool.
For the many dates I’ve been on in search for Mr. Right, I’ve not come close to punching anyone until Saturday even though I remember walking out of a bar from a date, because the dude asked out the blue; what colour of panties are you wearing…
This was my first date with someone I thought was level headed but he was just like a small boy with bad table and questioning manners. People ask about that on a first date?
Perhaps I am too old school as I am looking for that man who will open the car door for me and walk me to my front door without inviting himself in—when I have no intention of doing so. Men these days have lost it all.
Anyway, I had an early night on Friday after a long week and couldn’t even finish watching the Robert De Niro movie-The Family I found on Netflix. I am not sure what knocked me into sleep; either the tiredness or the glass of South African wine.
Saturday morning was all about cleaning my apartment and throwing away those expired packed food in the freeze. For some weird reason, no matter where I buy my salad from these days, they go off before the expiring date. These supermarkets must be feeding us with poison.
My Saturday evening was supposed to be my 3rd date with a guy and for him to score a third date, you should know I like him—but just a little until he blew it all off.
We got the cinema to watch his movie of choice- The Equalizer by Denzel Washington and I didn’t mind seeing it because I love Denzel despite it being an action movie.
The moment we took our seat, his guy placed his hand on my thigh and I didn’t say anything because it was in the cinema and I thought he was just looking to get comfortable. And then when the movie started, he also started his nonsense—running his hand all around my thigh.
I kicked his hand off two or three times and he wouldn’t stop so I told him in words to let me watch the movie as that is why we were in the cinema. He continued after I told him I do not find what he is doing appropriate and that we are not at that level yet.
And then he decided to take off my belt in a high school style so I got up and pushed the popcorn on him and stormed out of the cinema. I nearly punched his face when I got up but I decided not to make a scene so I walked off.
I got home to about 15 text messages from him and I didn’t even bother reading it. His number is deleted and he will never hear from me again.
That was my Saturday evening ruined by some douchebag—and if you want to know his age, he is 38.
On Sunday, I went to church and after that visited a friend who has been blessed with a cute baby. I spent most of the afternoon with her and on my way back, I grabbed a pizza for a home alone night.

I am started a weekend course so I went to class on saturday. I didnt go to church this sunday because I had a lot of home cleaning to do which could wait anymore.

for a long time now, my weekends have followed the same boring patten to the extent that doing something fun seems an odd thing to me. I stay at home from Friday night to Sunday night.

My question is- what is a 38 year old man still doing single. And why would he not let you pick the movie. Damn if after all these years he hasn’t learnt any good manners then even my worst enemy doesn’t deserve him.

That man should have been reported to the police for harassment. What is wrong with some men of today? So 38 years old man does not even know how to treat a woman these days.
I didnt do much this weekend except to sit home and catch up on Good wife. I also went for grocery shopping and things are getting expensive with each day passing lol
