I recently got into a conversation with someone about the strength of beauty pageants and how the impact is mostly short-lived.
After the reign of our Ghanaian beauty pageant winners, less is heard of them and their works. Considering the hustle and all manner of “torture” young girls go through to become Queens, the benefits somehow does not actually mirror the input—for them and for the community at large.
For example, nothing is coming out of the camp of 2010 Miss Ghana winner- Stephanie Karikari and it seems so soon, her mark is over.
