The opening of the 67th Cannes Film festival last night was as usual full of its annual star power, with Nicole Kidman leading the stars for the opening film premiere for ‘Grace of Monaco’.
The opening of this year’s festival featured guests included French culture minister Aurelie Filipetti, Metropolitan Filmexport’s co-founder Samuel Hadida, French producer Eric Altmayer, Gaumont’s chairman Sidonie Dumas and president Nicolas Seydoux. Stars such as Jane Fonda, Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman, Kendal Jenner, Blake Lively and others brought glam to the opening as they graced the red carpet.
The Opening Ceremony of the 67th Festival de Cannes took place in the Grand Théâtre Lumière.
After the theme of the film The Piano by Jane Campion performed by Michael Nyman, Lambert Wilson welcomed on stage the Feature films Jury: Nicolas Winding Refn, Jia Zhangke, Gael Garcia Bernal, Willem Dafoe, Jeon Do-yeon, Leila Hatami, Sofia Coppola, Carole Bouquet and her President, Jane Campion.
The Festival was declared open by Chiara Mastroianni and Alfonso Cuarón and the Ceremony continued with the screening Out of Competition of Olivier Dahan’s Grace of Monaco.
Nicole Kidman,46, the top star in ‘Grace of Monaco’ was looking sensational wearing a blue Armani gown which featured incredible intricate jewelling which caught the light as she strolled along the red carpet.
