The prestigious Cannes Film Festival will receive a grand opening tonight—and having been granted accreditation as journalist to attend this year’s festival, I am currently on my way to Cannes.
Unlike last year when I flew into Cannes, I’ve decided to do a road trip this year to be able to have a wonderful experience.
Courtesy of the sponsorship I received from several people, I will be staying for the whole length of the festival and have interesting interviews and meetings already scheduled.
With SassyChic by my side, we drove from London to Dover and we are currently on board a Ferry to Calais. The water journey will take 1 hour and 30 minutes. With a FREE wifi on the ferry, I decided to get this post off the way.
When we get to Calais, I will drive 3 hours more and then we will check into a hotel to rest. We will then drive approximately 4 hours more the next day—and we will be in Cannes.
At Cannes, we’ve booked two different apartment hotels—first 4 nights in one and the next 7 nights in another. I just think staying at one place for the entire duration of the trip will curb the experience…
For the long road trip, I have downloaded some GREAT reggae songs to blow my mind as I drive—let’s shout Jah Rastafaria! I have downloaded the full International Herb album, Good Things and Too Long in Slavery by Joseph Hill-Culture, I have also downloaded Together as One by Lucky Dube, Legalize It and I Am What I Am by Peter Tosh. How can I not have downloaded albums of legends like Senzo, Bob Marley and Alpa Blondy…
It is surely going to be blazing in my car—without weed though!
Check out the below photos & I will keep you all updated. Thanks to all those who paid out to sponsor part of this trip.
