Like politics, the Entertainment industry has its own tension and people who can tick your name off important things, including getting nominated for Oscars—trust me, it happens.
Before the 2014 Oscar nominations came out, those who understand things knew Oprah was going to be snubbed, her performance in Butler was going to be ignored.
And that was what happened but Oprah says she is not upset about the snub.
Despite reports of snub, Oprah told E! Online that she never expected a nomination, given the group of women up for the Best Supporting Actress award.
She said “Look at that category, and look who’s nominated in that category. My friend Julia (Roberts) and June (Squibb), who I don’t know, but Sally Hawkins, and Jennifer (Lawrence) and Lupita (Nyong’o). I think that’s fantastic.”
The talk show host laughed off reports that she was angry about being snubbed, saying, “If anybody sees or reads anything that says I was the slightest bit upset…I had no expectation for a nomination,” she insisted. “I really didn’t”
