Actress-Yvonne Nelson never ceases to amaze us with her regular ignorant comments. According to the actress, none of you guys accusing her of skin bleaching have a report from a dermatologist to establish so, therefore, leave her skin alone…
Few days ago, GhanaCelebrities.Com reported that a satire article has been picked by some media outlets in Ghana to be fact. In response to the article which claimed Yvonne Nelson has issued a statement, saying she uses Cocoa butter and that has lightening her skin, the actress told NewsOne that;
“This is not true. It is a lie. I have never issued such a statement and I don’t use Cocoa Butter. People should leave my skin alone”.
She added “I do not write the stories so I can’t answer for them. Maybe you should be asking the writers whether they have a report from a dermatologist that has diagnosed me of skin bleaching. They have made up their minds that I bleach and they are lost in that state of mental deception. Sometimes you feed your mind with an untruth and believe the untruth so much that you even start to think it is true”.

She continued “I have always explained that as an actress I take different pictures under different shade of light and with different makeup depending on what the picture would be used for. It is therefore not strange to find different pictures of me looking different. It does not mean bleaching and one does not need to be an industry player to know this.
“Even in movies, depending on who the director is, there are different lighting angles and brightness levels that can be used to make a character look different and this is no secret. Even a change of weather can have an effect on one’s skin…I fully understand the dangers of skin bleaching and would not engage in any such venture. I am a lady and I appreciate my God-given looks.”
Yeah right, don’t John Dumelo and the others act in these same movies? And who said you have to get a report from a dermatologist before you can establish if someone has bleached or not–especially when it is obvious like that of Yvonne Nelson.
Yvonne, please do not insult your fans and the people who helped you to get to where you are today about this dermatologist nonsense. Most people in Ghana and all over the world are educated enough to know when “one has toned or bleached themselves.” Are you forgetting we all saw you when you first started your acting carrier? 70% of the actresses in Ghana have toned or bleached themselves. You are not alone so admit to your complexion change and stop with this s.t.u.p.i.d and uneducated comments ok.

Im just concerned about the message being sent to uor young ones that being lighter skinned is much more desirable.
De young ones have parents who can teach dem. Yvonne is not their parent. Parents shd be kids role models not actors
I don’t think it’s as simple as that. When you are in the public eye it’s not something you can choose, young people are extremely impressionable and are not always under the watchful eye of their parents. Kids as young as 6 will see a celeb they like and start to mimic their behaviours. I saw a young girl at a kids party roll up her top and started booty bouncing when Beyonce’s song came on…that’s how quick they pick things, so once you are a celeb you automatically put yourself in a position of being role model whether you want it or not..no one said she is forced to be a good one, but she is one. That’s how I see it. I think if Yvonne admits it ppl will leave her alone, she shouldn’t have to but for the sake of being harassed she should say, yes and what…but her lies make her immature and she is losing face.
Calm down that was harsh… She’s only expressing her self, she’s human and the way bloggers keep publishing her complexion daily gets irritating at the end of the day is her own skin and has the right to tone or whitening. Please take it easy on her.
