If you’ve never been to the historic town of Elmina and have never paid a visit to the Elmina castle, make it a MUST visit place…
You will learn more and come close to the best experience you will ever have in relation to slavery by visiting the Elmina castle which is over 500 years old—and served as a slave harbour for over 2 centuries.
Apart from the fact that you will have to pay an entry fee of 5 cedi and another unbelievable 20 cedi just to use your camera (take photos) while in the castle, you will enjoy the visit aided by a Tour Guide who will take you through the stories of the castle…
I’ve read several books on slavery in Africa but none was able to hit my nerve like what happened to me when walked through those Dungeons to the gate of ‘No Return’.
And if you decide to ever visit the Elmina castle, don’t forget to check out the famous Elmina Bay Resort. My two night stay at the resort was amazing and the hospitality was on point.
From Elmina, I stopped over at my Alma Mater-Adisadel College, where the hustle and excellence of my life started—‘I was there some’.
After my visit to Adisadel College, a friend of mine whose family owns and manages Cape Coast Hotel asked that I spend a FREE night at the hotel—and offer I could not say ‘No’ to as I’ve known this friend since Adisadel College days!
A Free night at the high-status Cape Coast Hotel! Who will say No to that?
So I am writing this from my hotel room at Cape Coast Hotel. So far, it has been a nice say in the Central Region, hoping to leave tomorrow for Herty Borngreat’s ‘Be My Guest’ concert at Alisa Hotel-Accra.
Nice one, I can see you went back to your old school, that’s some memories. But how did you cope with the smell
@Oheneba Miyagi, LOL…. Mr. which smell… of the town, the school or from the many people taking a shit on the rocks just of the beach?!?!

@Adjoa Nbaaso),has it not also occur to you that most of the readers that comments on this site have also visited these historical places already?
@Bee, you said it right like its on a different planet. Lol I have been there ccountless times so I personally don’t see it as news.
@Nana, good u said “I”.Not everyone had the privilege to visit the place so speak for urself..What u prefer as “news” is someone’s comedy so chill & that’s the other way round.
WOW Chris, Looking at the pics brings back memories of my trip to GH… I visited my old town and primary school in Kumasi. And we also visited Cape and Elmina. The slavery history was just sad. But the most touching is when after the visit, and to see how little GH (Africa) have progressed!!!!! Our guide at Cape Castle name was Mark. An incredible story teller.
Am definitely visiting the place the next time am in GH
