Cecile Kyenge, the Italian Minister for Integration who was eager to hear Mario Balotelli’s no nonsense views on racism invited the football star and others for a meeting, and she might have been disappointed as Mario failed to show up—he rather opted to sleep.

Is this guy for real at all?

Mario Balotelli might fancy himself as a bit of a politician, but the striker needs to work on his time keeping after skipping an important government meeting this week – in order to sleep.

The AC Milan star has often spoken of his desire to be involved in politics after his footballing career, with the player keen to make a difference in his native Italy.

But after Cecile Kyenge, the Italian Minister for Integration, invited him for a important meeting on racism this week, Balotelli opted to catch some extra sleep instead. ‘Balotelli said he did not come because he preferred to sleep, so we must respect his transparency,’ Kyenge told Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The meeting was not compulsory, and other members of the Italian national team were also invited, but Kyenge was keen to hear Mario’s no nonsense views.

‘For me Balotelli was a person I wanted to see, but I also wanted to meet the whole squad,’ he added.

So it seems poor Balo will need to put in more hours in the bedroom if he is to convince people of his political abilities.
