I do not mind buying people a drink. This will not break my bank and it won’t make me bankrupt either. However, I think I should do this when I want to—the decision must come from me.
Probably I have lost touch with new black woman’s world as I was taken by surprised when a lady I was introduced to ‘shouted’ just seconds after the introduction—buy me a drink then. Was I miss something?
Meeting new people especially women can be fun. It has always been fun except this one which I will treat as a rare case—unless some of you are able to tell me there are more like her out there seeking to get DRUNK on men.
At a recent concert in London, a friend introduced me to her ‘bunch’ of excited female friends, informing them that I gave her a FREE ticket to the event, courtesy of my blog-GhanaCelebrities.Com
As expected, they all wanted to find out if and how they can get FREE tickets to upcoming concerts/events.
One of the girls said I should have given her a FREE ticket too so she could have used her money for something else. She spoke as if I had promised her a ticket or have had some sort of dealings with me before—quite different from the others.
So I asked her; “what is your name again”? After she mentioned her name, she quickly added; BUY ME A DRINK, pointing at the bar next to us.
I froze for a minute and without giving it any thought, I said, NO…You do not ask me to buy you a drink, I do so because I want to…
I am pretty sure my friend was offended as he face turned red. But was she offended by her friend’s conduct or my answer? I never bothered to ask, I just walked away…
I may be out of touch with reality and this why I am want those who regularly step out to help me find answers to;
Must a woman ASK a man to buy her a drink?
Has this become a new world order?
Do some women go out with or without money, expecting to manipulate their ways in getting free drinks from guys?
