So last night, I was watching sports extra on Viasat 1 when one of the panel members called out Essien on his lackadaisical approach to media and communication and went on to plead with him to revive his public appeal as it is presently at its lowest.
Perhaps his PR team is to blame…right? Apparently, Essien had no idea what to say when the Mic was handed to him at his own Game of Hope. Really… Essien? This is preposterous to say the least. It’s a game you put together for many reasons and you have no idea what to say?
Sources have it he also failed to speak on his return to the National Team although he promised initially to do so. I sampled some amount of comments on Facebook and Twitter concerning Essiens Game of Hope and the general impression wasn’t positive, people are not mincing words in descending on him on social media.
Let me run a few for you…

-So what exactly has the Michael Essien Foundation done since its inception? And with all the money he and his footballer friends earn, must they rely on the 20 and 60 Ghana gate proceeds to run the Foundation? I am damn sure if each player had contributed just 1% of a week’s salary the proceeds would have been a lot more than what was realised.
But the big question is, what is the Foundation truly doing? Drogba is building a hospital bigger than Korle-Bu. I bet I’m going to come under a barrage of criticism from our local celebs who were making noise about the game merely cos some big names were in town. I’m yet to hear anyone raise ask the what and how and why and when and where!
-Essien and his pals came down town to party.the game was meant to lure the more generous ladies in our ranks to their lair!
-I think me and u should start asking akosua puni;first about the stepapp (stephen appiah’s clothing line she was in charge) and then we come to this thing of a foundation.
-If you know Essien, tell him Right Now, Ghana is not in the mood for his fun games…! If he want to entertain us with football, he shd be in Khartoum reppn the flag! Charity? Nigga pleeease!! There was an SOS call from Black Stars! Don’t fumble!
-I wonder who are the people who are advising him. I am not attending neither will I even want to have anything to do with it. If you do not want to play for us but you want our money. This cannot be the doing of an APSU. Does he love Ghana at all?

I am confused! Who is on his PR team and what are they doing? We know Essien is a shy guy but not every lapse can be excused.
I would also like to ask, do any of you agree with the panellist’s assertion that Essien is losing public appeal? Are people losing interest in our darling boy? I for one have never been too crazy about his appeal beyond his soccer skills, even with soccer, if I had my way, he should have positioned himself in a way to be able to comfortably retire by now…Just my opinion!

I believe with soccer, you can slash your age however you want but honey, bones don’t lie!
His game has only deteriorated recently and I had rather he went out in a good light and be remembered among the top than to lose grip before he is forced to reply.
I do not want to be superstitious but is the Akosua Puni spell setting in on Bro Essien?
Wonders! From my grapevine, it is alleged that madam Puni has a deadly effect of the careers of all her love interests once she has sunk her claws deep into you. I have also been informed that they are even married now, Eh! Essien!?!
So what is she doing to manage his state of affairs as a manager/PR or is she working hard on making him more babies? Why not hand over the job to a more competent person then? Dude, do not mix sensitive business with pleasure. Learn this now or never!
Essien, if you or your PR team are reading this, I had like to say: “CHECK YOURSELF”
Ok from what I’ve read, the gist I’m getting really is mainly towards these negative critics…SERIOUSLY Ghanaians can TALK…Aah…always quick to bad mouth somebody…how many charity events has these negative critics organized…instead of us praising ad encouraging one another, we are here doing PHD…it makes some of us who wants to go back home to do something for our communities just forget about the whole idea…stop mad mouthing someone’s contribution and something for your community as well…
seriously ghanaians talk too much, who cares if he is not doing anything, when he was struggling where were u fuck publicist? where were u fuck niggaz, now that he made it, u ppl tryna tell him what to do wit his money n how to handle issues`FOH:
