The Miss Earth Ghana Organization, the brain behind the organization of Miss Earth Ghana has launched 2013 edition of the beauty pageant.
Miss Earth Ghana is aimed at laying strong emphasis on environmental protection programmes like focusing on tree planting campaigns. It also aims at promoting and showcasing various tourist destinations to improve eco-tourism in Ghana.
The franchise holders launched the pageant in 2011 to re-invent and improve the concept of beauty competition in Ghana due to the large number of young ladies who admire and aspire to be beauty queens.
They believed that beauty contests will be a good vehicle to convey worthy causes such as the conservation of the environment, following in the lead of International franchise owners, Carousel Productions Inc based in the Philippines.
16 beautiful and intelligent contestants have been scouted from all over the country to compete for the Miss Earth Ghana 2013 crown.
The ladies will be camped in a house for four weeks. Whiles in the house, they will be embarking on several productions such as tree planting, environmental education, beach resources/sanitation management activities, eco fashion shows and themed photo shoots in the following regions; Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern and Central.
Aside the crown which will offer her the opportunity to represent Ghana at the Miss Earth International event and the bragging rights, the winner will go home also with GHC5.000 cash prize. She will receive GHC5.000 worth of sponsorship goods and products, an official car, official wardrobe.
The first runner up goes home with a cash prize and products worth GHC3.000 plus a home theatre and official wardrobe. She also gets a ticket to participate in an international event.
The second and third runner ups will each get GHC1.500 and GHC1.000 respectively plus other consolation prizes.
