As part of the numerous activities marking its 20th anniversary, the SRC of the University of Education Winneba has organised an Award ceremony to honour some of Ghana’s young making vibrant impact in different sectors of the economy.
In the Art & Entertainment industry, beautiful Ghanaian actress-Martha Ankomah, multiple award-winning actor-Majid Michel and musicians-EL, Atumpan, Kwabena Kwabena and others were honoured for their great contribution to the Entertainment industry.
In other honouring news; Ghanaian actors-John Dumelo and Majid Michel have received recognition for their support in the development of humanity and sustenance of the African culture of the black race through their movies and humanitarian activities, from the City of Philadelphia, United States.
The two Ghanaian born African movie stars were presented with certificates of honour in addition to having their citations read at the ceremony attended by several African movie enthusiast and academicians. The ceremony took place on Wednesday evening April 10 at Philadelphia City Hall.
In attendance were top dignitaries such as Jannie L. Blackwell, City Council of Philadelphia, Hon. Stanley L. Straughter, Chairman of the Mayor’s Commission on African and Caribbean Immigrant Affairs, and Honorary,Consul The Republic of Guinea and Dr. Samuel Quartey, Chairman/African Caribbean Business Council, Imhotep Charter School & Ga Dangme
