UPDATE On John Pantsil ‘The Wife Beater’ Case…

Published by
John Pantsil

John Pantsil of Ghana Black Stars was arrested yesterday for ‘allegedly’ beating the hell out of his wife over ‘only God knows’ what.

GhanaCelebrities.Com is told that, John Pantsil turned her wife-Richlove into a punching bag for stealing his $20, 000, forcing her jump their  wall into a neighbour’s house.

Other reports state that, John Pantsil battered his wife because she confronted him following rumours he slept with some prostitutes during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in South Africa.

Whatever she did or failed to do, John Pantsil have no right to beat her, causing her bodily harm- several injuries including a severe cut around her eye.

According to the Greater Accra Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, DSP Freeman Tettey, John Pantsil is being held in jail for domestic violence.

Police say they have obtained the medical report of John Pantsil’s wife which indicates she was badly battered. The police claim the medical reports they in their possession indicate Richlove Paintsil was admitted to a hospital in a critical condition.

Like one of the 60% of Ghanaian women who hold the view that it is right for their husbands to beat them, Richlove Paintsil has suddenly changed her story.

She has gone on radio to deny sustaining any injury but however admitted there was a “minor” incident in the house which she was not prepared to go public with.

Last night, Richlove told JoyFm that;

“I don’t want to go into details… he hasn’t done anything”.

“I am not at the hospital. Don’t believe what the policeman is telling you. I am at home at the moment and preparing to go the police station myself”.

It is preposterous that in this day and age, some African women are still condoning being used as punching bags.

Paintsil’s wife’s cousin Obeng Dompem told XYZ News this morning, Saturday February 23, 2013 that the lady’s Father and almost the entire family were storming Accra to listen to both sides of the story.

Paintil’s in-laws are determined to settle the matter amicably and so may not press charges against the footballer.
