LIFESTYLE: What Do You Rock & Why Do You Prefer It? Natural Hair Vrs Weaves/Wigs….

blank

Hair is the ultimate accessory!

I have heard all the arguments for and against natural hair, so have I also heard the debate for and against weaves or wigs. Personally, I am a long weave lady and I rock it so well…

Despite the various opinions about natural hair and weaves/wigs, I think it boils down to what an individual prefers,  why she prefers it and how comfortable the person feels rocking whatever she has got on.

Interestingly, I have realized that the number of black women (my opinion) opting for natural hair has increased over the last few years.

On the other hand, those of us rocking the weaves are also spending a lot of money on our hair and treatment to make sure we look good. I know people who spend over 700 dollars on their hair when they have to change it.

I love rocking wigs because I find them cost effective and I look good with them on.  Also, I get to take them off when I am home (especially when I am cooking, showering or sleeping). This makes me very comfortable…

Though I believe it is a matter of what every woman likes, I would love to hear what you rock and why do you rock it. Are you a natural woman or a weave/wig woman? I am the latter….

  2. I love to see my fellow sisters rocking their natural hair but rocking a natural hair is a BIG NO for me.

I love my weaves and wigs 😛  Weaves and wigs are more easier to take care of and i can have a lot of different hair styles (lots of options).

    • I used to wear weave but I stopped this year and I’ve gone natural for about 7 months now. I had enough of perming my hair. I’m proud that I’ve gone natural and the advantage is that you can take good care of your hair. I don’t have to spend so much money on buying weave and going to the hairsalon to pay a lot of money anymore! Waste of my money! Those days are over!

Many girls have gone natural and some have long hair in 4-5 years to where it’s almost to their waist. I was shocked! Who said black girls can’t have long natural hair? Why not take the time to let your hair grow instead of spending a lot of money on weave? In my opinion, going natural is the best decision that I’ve ever made for my hair!

  8. I’ve been natural for  almost two years and  I love it.  My hair is healthier and cheaper to maintain. Though I’m currently rocking yarn braids as a protective  style  for the winter months… apparently yarn grows hair and I can’t wait to see new hair growth once I take them out.

  9. for me, my kpenkpeshie natural hair is too difficult to maintain, I would have loved to leave it to grow bt its too painfull to comb thru. so I guess its back to permed hair & braids 🙁

  10. Again, I believe it is all about preference. I don’t like weave. I tried it once, and that would probably the last time. I love to have permed hair and then braids every now and then. I definitely don’t do wigs. It’s a no no for me. The point is if you can rock it well, then all power to you. I have seen some people in weave and wigs and I have loved them. But always remember, too much of everything can be bad.
