Would Jackie Appiah Be Able To Beat Nadia Buari, Yvonne Okoro, Yvonne Nelson & Others To Win 2012 Best Ghanaian Actress?

I am not sure if we should take Ghana Movie Awards any serious since its organizers are infested with confusion. This year’s edition of the award scheme has been scantily put together in a rush to satisfy its annual occurrence.
Though it is easy to blame the organizers for their lousy organization, I think we should not forget that this year has been nothing more than mediocre in terms of movies produced in Ghana. I can point out any great movie which was produced this year in Ghana (count out Adams Apples). The substandard movies seem to have taken over our movie industry.
When I looked at the list of nominated movies, I couldn’t believe what a junk of movies we have produced this year.
Personally, I think the lack of great movies this year must have made the work of the organizers difficult…
When competition is not fierce and you win, you would eventually begin to doubt yourself if you are really the best. This is what I think will happen to all the winners of this year’s Ghana Movie Awards which was moved from 2nd December to 25th December.
In spite of the above, the ‘Best Actress In  A Lead Role-English’ category has almost all our main actresses in there and as such, it would attract more attention than the other categories.
With almost 20 days to the Awards’ night, predictions have started coming in with people asking if star Actress Jackie Appiah (the one with most awards under her belt among the nominees) can easily beat Yvonne Okoro, Yvonne Nelson, Martha Ankomah and Nadia Buari to become once again Ghana Movie Awards Best Actress or not…
Looking at the movies they have all been nominated for, do you think Jackie Appiah can easily take home the 2012 Best Actress award? If not, who do you think (based on the movies nominated) would win in that category?
Best Actress In  A Lead Role-English
Yvonne Nelson – Single & Married
Martha Ankomah – Tears Of A Smile
Jackie Appiah – Grooms Bride
Nana Akua Addo – Wanna Be
Yvonne Okoro – 3 Some
Nadia Buari – Rain
