MISS GHANA 2012: Yvonne Okoro Says Her Sister-Roseline Okoro Was Cheated-Vote Rigging

Yvonne Okoro and sisters
Yvonne Okoro and sisters

I am sure Yvonne Okoro can’t just take the fact that after all the money she invested, campaigns and gimmick articles she paid for to be written about her sister so that she would win the 2012 Miss Ghana, she was still beaten by more deserving candidates…

It is absurd for her to insinuate that because her system did not win, there was some sort of rigging…How does she want the winner-Naa Okailey to feel?

Such utterances are uncalled for and it further confirms our suspicion of Yvonne Okoro bearing a deluded EGO…

  1. how was it rigged, so far u r the only one complaining, usually after pagaent all the news agencies are a bit skeptical about the winner, this is the first in a while that there is unanimous approval of a queen.
plus look at the way naa was soo shocked in the pics, i am sure she wasnt expecting it.

  2. that tweet is uncalled for, from the photos you can see the surprise on the winners’ face, if she knew it beforehand, she won’t be that surprised.

  3. Yvonne, I love you.

… but sit the fuck down with that noise.

Vote rigging where? When was the last time a Miss Ghana was unanimously hailed by the media and fans? Because she is your sister she deserves to win? Girl, PLEASE (and by the way, notice how I’m not dragging the nationality argument into this?)!

Even the other contestants (who didn’t place) aren’t complaining. And we haven’t even started questioning how Roseline got into the top 5 and the cute Foriwaa got left out yet.

Roseline is a beautiful girl in her own right. Your meddling in the pageant has cast a shadow over a rather sweet girl, rallying your fan-base around her just because she is your sister. How do you want the other girls to feel?

This isn’t the first time the relative of a prominent figure has been in Miss Ghana. Alhadji Sidiku Buari’s daughter, Shaida, won Miss Ghana in 2001/2 and there was NO noise whatsoever because her father stayed out of the spotlight and allowed her to battle it out on her own (and that’s why we still LOVE her).

Maybe you should have done the same.

    My two cents.

  10. Even is she invested so much in her sister, that doesn’t give her the right to post a tweet like that. It’s disrespectful and it’s like she is only thinking of herself. It’s not everything that will go your way.

  11. Addendum to my comment above:

And WTF is with the gender bias issue? Wasn’t this a female beauty pageant? Please sit your ignorant self all the way down.

Big ups to Inna Maryam Patty and her team for crowning the best out of the 18.

  12. inna patty God bless you,for endin the erra of crown buyin,if u had not done that, these fools would have forced an okoro on us, what is yvonne’s beef,i thought they said they were africans, nonesense, they should go and contest miss sudan, miss chad, they should try contestin miss nigeria,as for yvonne self who told her she is a great acttress, pls tell her she is jaki’s little shadow.

  13. I stand to be corrected, the only time votes were considered she won “miss sms or shs something like that” so where lies the rigging. Was it rigged in your sister favor?

  14. Please can we state the obvious? Yvonne’s sister is not that pretty. There were alot of the girls that were far more prettier than her in the competition. She only got to where she is because of her sister “Yvonne” status. Yvonne stop making a fool out of yourself by making comments like that. These kind of comments will not help your sister but it will help to damage your career.

    • @Amma, girl you just hit it right where it is. As to how she got into the competition I know Majeed Michel was on the Accra audition board when she was chosen as a contestant. Can anybody see where I’m going with this?

      Reply
    • @Amma,well said. The truth does hurt. Yvonne should stop with that stupid talk because her sister was not even good enough to take the third position let alone to win  the first position!

    • @Amma, You are so on point for real. When will some people understand that money cannot buy everything duh..A beauty pageant does not only consist of beauty but also brains am just saying. Miss Okoro please am begging you check yourself and quit all this bull…..

  15. What to my dear country is the name Okoro as Miss Ghana? To mother; it’s a slap in her face by Nigeria, an insult to her by the Miss Ghana organizers, and a mockery of her by her true sons and daughters. To her, the crown on such a head is scam, a perfect exhibition of Nigeria 419 by buying the crown with cheap fame and votes. I know there would have been another funeral service in Busia’s grave. Thank God that a TRUE GHANAIAN WON! I salute the organizers…:-)

    • @Maame Yaa,
But when she wins award tomorrow, you will remember she is ghanian.
I am sure she is smart enough to realize the fact that she is living in the midst of traitors.
She is just another victim of ghanian envy and Nigeria-phobia.
She and her sisters should get married to Nigerians, and sever whatever ties they think they have with ghana.

      • @Solomon, Shut up! I repeat, SHUT UP!! Aren’t you supposed to be at the soup party with Meat Romney and Okro Roseline…? Your Yvonne can even move to Nigeria and stay there till thy Kingdom comes, I care less about that. What I care about is WHO represents my country on an international platform!!! Nobody here knows her fucking name or who the heck she is so don’t somebody out of that nobody. What awards….heeti (sneeking)? Someone like me won’t remember her for anything; I will only make fun of her so far as she keeps acting like a fool. I gathered enough courage to define her as childish not because I’m scared but because I didn’t want to insult children. When I came here to call this crazy lady an arrogant fool because of her ranting on twitter, agama lizards were popping their heads trying to swallow me on this forum but thank God that I’m not the only smart one who thinks she is the queen of all arrogant people. She just wakes up in the morning, shut down her brain and allows her hands to take over twitter. She puts her foot in her mouth/hand and talk/type. After Chris’s article, she was all over Twitter insulting him. So classless of her to do that…!!! She called for all this….

    • @Maame Yaa, my dear, you have said it all,you are a true Ghanaian even your name says it all,i cannot imagine a name like yours, maame yaa going to nigeria to be crown mis nigeria it cant happen. Her full name is Roseline Ngozi Okoro and i tell you nigerians would have laughed at us if she had won.And please madam Y.okoro,if you and your sister are desperate to wear a crown, then go buy one for yourselves or better still go contest in naija and am sure that miss sms self she will not get and please shut the fuck up.Naa Okailey sounds more like it to represent Ghana at miss world, not Ngozi okoro.

      • @jessi, if a name like mine try to compete in a Miss Nigeria beauty contest, Boko Haram will bomb the whole competition before it even starts….!!! So the citizens won’t even suffer to claim what is theirs like we are doing.

  18. YVONNE OKORO SHOULD BLAME HERSELF FOR THE DOWNFALL OF HER SISTER. THE DAY SHE STARTED TALKING SHIT ABOUT GC ON TWITTER AND REPLYING THEIR ARTICLE CHALLENGING THE NATIONALITY OF ROSELINE WITH HER STUPID WE ARE AFRICAN NONSENSE IS THE DAY I SAID CHRIS AND CO WILL FINISH THIS GIRL. THEY WILL EXPOSE HER IGNORANCE SOON AND HER SISTER IS GOING TO LOOSE BIG TIME.
NOW TOO SHE IS TALKING RUBBISH AGAIN. DOES SHE THINKS WE GHANAIANS ARE FOOLS?  YOU ARE ON TV DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE BETTER THAN ANYONE. SO WHO BORN DOG BY MISTAKE? GET SOME LFE

  20. All of you talking no sense were u to the show ohhhhhhhhh come on , me I was there it’s not about nationality but reality we’re all African what makes the beauty of a lady is her brain being clever whatever you know about and roselyn okoro was the one among the 10 giving good speech and answering to all questions very well that what makes a miss whatever a country and she should have been at least among the three. As for this 1 round she should have been out from the three bekoz she was struggling to respond to questions and as for this miss ghana i can declare that she has a good shape but don’t deserve to be miss ghana bekoz her too was not enough clever. Therefore i beg all organizations to do the right thing and let move Africa forward if u can tell the truth everything Ghanians do have that statement ( you must be a Ghanaian) stop it bekoz you don’t know who can change ur destiny may be someone out of ghana no more Ghanaian or Nigerian nor Togolese whatever but being one may Gog bless u i love all African

      LOL

This mindless internet banter is below me.

Pick a seat on the short bus next to Yvonne Okoro.

      BTW Ghanaians is spelled G-H-A-N-A-I-A-N-S

    • @sonia, I honestly hope that Roseline did not give a speech similar to this comment of yours. Your punctuations are terrible, your sentences are poorly constructed, and your write-up is baseless. YOU DON’T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO RECOGNIZE A GOOD SPEECH.

By the way, why didn’t you advise your hero to leave the discrimination nonsense out of her speech? Was that important or it was just an appeal to pity…? That was a bad move…!!! You and your heroes need coaching; no kidding…
