Let me be the first to admit that the once famous Akosua Agyapong has lost her touch. Now, I know this would bring some sort of wild fire but seriously, every time I watch her antics on TV or on stage these days I just can’t help but roll over the floor and laugh.
Her performance has become an eye sore and her compositions keeps getting worse and worse. Sometimes, I even wonder if those songs were actually composed by herself or probably by one of her kids because lately they are beginning to sound like nursery rhymes.
I do not want to disrespect this woman or have any sort of malice towards her but it is plain ridiculous to see such a beautiful woman make a public mockery of herself and her family.
Talking about her family, maybe she could take some pointers in music and in fashion from her sexy big sister, Stephanie Benson. I am certainly sure that would do her a whole lot of good.
A week ago, I had the misfortune of watching her performance on TVA’s Amazing Child episodes and as usual her performance was ridiculous.
I could see that the audience which mostly comprised of kids were rather over entertained by her awkward dance moves on stage. But it did remind me of the indefatigable Akosua of yester years. So vivacious and vibrant…Such a drama queen on stage.
This brings me to the issue of her being a better actress than a musician. I recently saw her in a couple of movies, ‘The Good Old Days’ and ‘Sinking Sands’ and I thought she did perform exceptionally well in both movies.
Maybe, it is about time Mrs. “Agyapong” channels her left energy towards movies. At least she can get to play a drama queen in one movies. Maybe old age is having substantial negative effect on her music and stage craft!
Have you followed Akosua Agyapong’s musical career? Have you seen her perform or hear her sing recently?
