Ghana Meets Naija 2012

GhanaCelebrities.Com can say on authority that, the most ever publicised event in Ghana will take place at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre tomorrow.
‘Ghana Meets Naija’ is a concept birthed out of the relationship between Ghana and Nigeria and the need to keep the bond strong and tight musically.
On its second edition, the brand has already been endorsed by Ghana’s government and sponsors chasing the organisers to be part of the event even at this stage.
‘Ghana Meets Naija’ has had exciting run so far and it will go down as the most publicised musical showdown ever to grace the country.
The two countries share several things in common and tomorrow will be another history making day as Ghana Meets Naija with the country’s finest and exciting musicians now.
Representing the home team on the red, gold and green with a black five-pointed star in the centre would be Chemphe, Becca, Buk Bak, Kwaw Kese, 4X4, Guru, Kakie, ItzTiffany, R2Bees, Keche and Bino.
The away team representing the green, white and green corner would be sexy Tiwa Savage, ‘Dami Duro’ crooner Davido, Chocolate City boys of Brymo, M.I.
As Ghana’s DJ Mensa lock horn with Nigeria’s DJ Neptune on the time table supremacy on the night and also dish out hits after hits, patrons would be left to show their dance skills.
The dance itself would be a battle between Ghana’s Azonto and Nigeria’s Alanta.
The Azonto dance is the latest dance craze in Ghana which has catch fire on the African continent. It is a very contagious and expressive dance which reflects the creativity and the rich sense of humour of Ghanaians.
You think it’s easy for positive things to find its way unto big foreign media platforms like BBC? That’s how the Azonto madness is, it infected them to the extent that, they sent a reporter down here to find where it started from.
No one needs a degree to do the Azonto dance; all one need is few minutes and the attitude to do the movements which depicts ironing, washing, driving, boxing, grooming, praying, swimming etc.
The Alanta dance has become very popular in Ghana and sometimes interlace with the azonto dance.
Just like azonto, the same attitude is needed to do the Alanta dance with perhaps a frown face – which suits the dance best. It’s an energy filled dance that requires vigorous hand, hips and leg movements. The dance style has to do with a patterned movement of the hands which it looks like you’re fanning flames around while raising one leg up.
Now you have an idea how the Dome would look like tomorrow evening.
If you have not perfected your Azonto and Alanta dance yet, please watch the videos because you don’t want to be left out of the party tomorrow.
