Come Friday, March 30^th 2012, Ghana will witness an exciting launch of the much awaited maiden edition of the Ghana DJ Awards which promises to go down in the books as one of the biggest events ever in Ghana.
Amidst massive reviews in Ghana and beyond, the Ghana DJ Awards, organized by Merqury Republic Events, will highlight the immense contributions that Disc Jockeys (DJs) have made in Ghana over the years by way of encouraging the music distribution chain, music promotion, radio play, endorsing and putting music on rotation at social events to make them enjoyable to the masses.
The wait comes to an end, 6pm sharp at the plush African Regent Hotel in Accra, where the official launch will be staged; arts industry players, DJs and the Ghanaian press will converge to receive news about the innovation.
Ahead of the grand event, Linda Larbi, a member of the planning committee said “categories for nominations and eligibility for application by DJs will be rolled out on Friday and subsequently would be released online via www.ghanadjawards.com and other major websites across Ghana”.
The date for the opening of nominations will also be announced on Friday. Nominees for either radio or club categories will be selected by a panel of music industry professionals as well as by popular public voting.
