If you think like me then Valentine’s Day is just another 24 hours inspired and championed by giant retailers to scam our pockets. Must love and affection be only shared or shown on this day only?
Why must we all buy flowers, panties, wines and other gifts for our loved ones on this particular day? Why must it mean so much to the extent that failure to tag along can even cause a lost of a cherished relationship?
For some reason, retailers have succeeded in marketing this day to us and we spend a lot on it. Apart from the spending, a lot of kinky things go down on this day in the bedroom. Love is celebrated and given priority.
Why can’t we always love each other every day like we do on Valentine’s Day of course minus the gifts because we can’t afford those every day?

The photo above is that of Ghanaian Actress Naa Ashorkor displaying probably one of the many gifts she got for Val’s, and the smile says it all…
What did you get for the much talked about Val’s Day? And what did you do? What is your take on the whole Val’s Day thing?

  1. personally i am not all abt valentine and I do not see the need for it. if you love me, show me the love every day and it should be the same each day not give me a better love for one day in a year and the rest crap love. what sort of nonsense is that?
I did not celebrate it and as such i did not get anything. i did not give anyone anything too. i just went to work.. I see this day as pretty useless and over hyped

    • @Lily, Maybe you dont have anybody to show you some love…that is why you think it is an ordinary day, yes it may be an ordinary day, but I think it is just the thought of it, you dont have to give your partner an expensive gift, Just say I love you and especially I love you on more this day… that alone is enough…

      • @Akata, as much as I don’t agree with all lily said, why must your lover say I love you only on Vals day? Should he not be saying that each day anyway ? So if he says it each day then Vals day is just another day where he says what he a,ways says. Lol

  5. Valentine day and materialism have been intermingled, and that’s why people are begining to hate the day. Like me, I used to have a girl who calls me at least more than 8 times a day. On this day she never called, waiting for my “I love you” either counterfit or genuine. Ladies want you to shop for them, take them to swim, eat expensive meal, go to club and have sex!
