For whatever reason, Mframa, a Hip Life duo made up of Terry Asare Boamah [Dada Halfco] and Kenneth Osei Owusu [One Pesewa] has been on the quiet.
The duo, who appears jaded in the music fraternity, released their maiden album ‘Fiili Fiili’ in 2007. The title track of the ten songs album which featured Kwabena Kwabena became an instant hit.
Their second album ‘Uneasy’ which had the popular track like ‘Disco’ didn’t enjoy the popularity of their first album. Perhaps, that was the main reason for their sudden pause to reflect.
After Obrafour released his ‘Kaseibo’, a ‘supposed’ diss song to Okyeame Kwame, the duo with A-Plus came out with ‘Konkonsa Radio’ part 1 and 2, funny songs actually to mock the two rappers and also address some social issues.
Their ‘Ghana Lady’ track which didn’t get much publicity was also featured on Appietus’ Compilation. Their next song after that was a song for a movie titled ‘Agya Koo Gbengbentus’ produced and directed by Augustine ‘Idikoko’ Abbey.
The soundtrack has given them a nomination in the 2011 Ghana Movie Awards’
‘Best Music [Original Score]’ alongside Thomas Vanoosting [Ties That Bind], Anti Benny [Somewhere In Africa], Elorm Adablah & Ivan Ayitey [Adams Apple] and Ebenezer Bonsu [Emmanuel].
The duo has released a new single ‘Rob Peter To Pay Paul’, featuring Hip Life group Praye. Click here to DOWNLOAD a copy.
