It has been in the air for some time now that Nicki Minaj, Neyo, Lionel Richie and others will be hitting Ghana-precisely Ohene Djan Sports Stadium (Accra) and Baba Yara Sports Stadium (Kumasi) on Thursday November 17 and Friday, November 18, 2011 respectively for a concert put together by telecommunication giant-Glo…
This will be a great thing if it happens but the name Nicki Minaj is somehow making me doubt the authenticity of the info… From previous concerts headlined by foreign musicians, the artistes who find themselves in Ghana are those who cannot sell in America or struggling for a comeback.
Nicki Minaj is out of this league…Currently, she is a hot cake. This is the part of the info which has made me a doubting Thomas on this issue…
If indeed, Glo manages to bring Nicki Minaj who is at the peak of her career to Ghana, I will salute them BIG TIME…This will to a large extent show that, they have come in full force, divorced from the practices of the already established telecommunication companies in Ghana. (Who mainly bring dying and struggling foreign artistes to Ghana)…
For Neyo and Lionel Richie coming to Ghana, that will be no news…They are in the same league as those other telecom companies have brought already…I will not doubt their coming to Ghana even if my little cousin told me this.
Glo has already signed top Ghanaian entertainers such as Reggie Rockstone, Pat Thomas, Ayigbe Edem, Asem, Tinny, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Kwabena Kwabena, Irene Logan, Becca, Shariffa Gunu and Paapa Yankson so surely if there is going to be a concert, you should expect them on the bill…
Ghanaian movie stars Jackie Appiah, Van Vicker and Nadia Buari are also Glo ambassadors for Ghana so they may be compelled to make appearance at the concert to support Glo…
Let’s hope in the next few days, Glo will confirm this for us all… I am a number 1 Nicki Minaj fan! 🙂
