Host of JS-International Assignment and Ghanaian International journalist, Jefferson Kwamina Sackey, according to report available to GhanaCelebrities.Com is heading to JOY FM; to commence working with the Accra based radio station.
However, the source was tight-lipped on the specific position that Jefferson will be occupying but speculations are that, he is mostly likely to be given a top post. He is also expected to contribute to the station’s flagship program, the Super Morning Show.
He is believed to have caused the station a fortune.
On the international scene Jefferson Sackey has seen it all. He has travelled extensively to various countries to cover events of high repute. He is touted by many as a young man who has brought confidence into the journalism profession in Ghana and considered as one of the country’s successful journalist in recent time.
Close to eight years, Jefferson Sackey, a freelance journalist has been the host of the JS-International Assignment, a first-class news documentary production going beyond the headlines to tell stories in-depth and from many points of view so you [viewer] can make up their own mind about the news that affects them. Jefferson’s travels include visiting war-torn countries covering armed conflicts, political upheavals and natural disasters in hot spots. The source further said that, Jefferson has acquired enough experience; hence he has been hired by the station that touts itself as the best English speaking radio station in the country.
He is expected to add his garnered knowledge to his new role also bring his experience to bear. According to reports, Jefferson’s love for radio has grown drastically and he felt the need to try his hands on that.
He has also received many honours for his exploits. One of such honours was in Toronto, Canada last year for his exceptional contribution to human rights awareness.
Jefferson Sackey started as a News Anchor in 2003 as a television newscaster and journalist with TV Africa [Ghana]. He also worked as a West African freelance correspondent for DWTV in Berlin where he covered some of the most sensitive humanitarian stories in Africa including Sudan, Somalia and Niger.
Shortly he joined Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Media Relations Officer until his resignation in 2008.
He has also worked with CNN as a freelancer.

Hmmm Joy FM could afford him? I heard he is one of the highest paid journalists in west africa. I watched his report for CNN sometime back in Holland. We r proud of him though. Big ups Mr Sackey
