It is extremely absurd when people in public positions do not have respect for the the public or those who by virtue of their works represent the public.

Being responsible and intelligent go beyond having layers of degrees and work experience. It is embodied in the way and manner you relate to other people especially those below your position in society and at work.

The effective  lack of accountably for the actions and omissions of those in higher positions in Ghana must be clearly looked at, since certain individuals in high offices on regular basis abuse, assault and sometimes even batter their low ranking workers.

Such gross misconduct is reported to have been put on full display by the Corporate Communications Manager of Vodafone-Antoinette Abena Atuah.

Antiontte verbally assaulted a Peace FM Entertainment reporter-Eugene Osafo Nkansah for simply asking a question during the Vodafone Live Press Conference which was held last Tuesday in Accra.

Eugene Osafo Nkansah of Peace Fm humbly asked why Amber Rose and the two foreign musicians-Trey Songz and D’banj were accorded a red carpet treatment by being offered comfortable red seats with red carpet on the floor, while the Ghanaian artistes were seated on hard chairs under the scorching sun.

To the surprise of the media men who had gathered at the Press Conference,  Antiontte assaulted replied, “Do you know that the question you asked was very stupid? Yes it’s a very stupid question you asked… You should ask intelligent questions and stop asking those stupid questions … explanation – we don’t have any explanation for you. If you want trouble you will get trouble.

Is this how a communication manager of a huge corporate body like Vodafone which provides services to the public ought to speak to a Journalist who represents the interest of the public?

Vodafone Ghana urgently needs to check it’s structures and activities in Ghana as the recent trend of events do not uplift the image of the company.

Who even  hired Antiontte? It is obvious from the above that she does NEED extensive training  in communication and Vodafone MUST provide her with that.
