Thank God I’m A Ghanaian! What Do You Love/Like About Ghana?

blank

Apart from the fact that Ghana is a peaceful country, its serene environment has also attracted various business men and women from all over Africa to flock the country for diverse businesses. I have come to believe that, there are several things that make the West African country a wonderful place to be.

If it’s not the peaceful nature of the country then it must be something special that attracted the likes of immediate former US Presidents, Bill Clinton, George Bush and current President Barrack Obama and the likes.

Thank God I’m a Ghanaian. In fact, I love Ghana for various reasons. Some of which are damn funny. If you are not NPP then certainly you are NDC. If you are not an ardent supporter of Accra Hearts of Oak, then you a die-hard fan of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Recently, the Nigerian’s accent was ranked as the 5th most sexy accent in the world. Why should that be a big deal to Ghanaians, when Ghana will be on top when it comes to giving directions? Ask Ghanaian directions to his house and you will begin to understand why Ghanaians are the best in that field.

Let me give you a typical example of how a Ghana man will give you a direction to a place….

Akosua (Stranger): Hello Bra, how do I get to the nearest KVIP?

Bra Yaw: You mean toilet, go straight, you will see two junctions, do not take any of them, keep going straight saaa, you will see another junction with traffic lights which do not work, turn right and walk straight till you see a blue kiosk, behind the kiosk, a woman sells kenkey, pass by her and keep going straight, you will find a school, ask any of the kids and they will show you…LOL

As a writer, you get approached by many upcoming musicians, who then gives you their yet to be released song/single on the CD and goes like “This is my hit single”. Hellooooo? The song is not released, yet it’s already a hit. Only in Ghana. Laughs.

These and many more are some of the things that make me love Ghana. Now let’s get talking, what do you like or love about Ghana?

  4. Me too love Ghanaians cos my Gh friends are the best,, though on a serious note my ears are almost blocked with the twi languauge which honestly i must start learning if not am so out of their conversations. But sadly enough the Ghanaian women i have meet here are terrible but i don’t want to use them to generalize. i mean real bad housewives what i want to believe is dat its the Europe syndrome and my case studies are all half educated so the tend to treat their Ghanian Husbands with serious disrespect.

  12. I also love the fried yam and fried pork meat (Tsofi) at the night market at Nkrumah Circle. It’s the best. Fula is another food I love and have missed so badly. Can’t wait to quench my appetite with a rich chilled one next time I come home.
