On Monday August 15, 2011, Viasat1, the private television station with the slogan ‘Your Number 1 Entertainer’ which is known for bringing Ghanaian viewers the best of international content will start broadcasting its own daily News.
According to a research by the station, Viasat1 is the second biggest and most watched television station in Ghana with 17.4% viewership. With three years of operations in Ghana, the station has endeared itself as one of the competitive stations.
The station started transmission with mostly foreign contents until they introduced two local productions; ‘One Show’ and ‘Laugh A Minute’. Both programs produced and recorded in their studios in Accra.
The station also started telecasting to its viewers UEFA Champions League matches with live studio discussions. To further get closer to its viewers and increase the local content on the station and grow in the market, the station will start airing its own News content.
The Viasat1 News will start at 7:30pm each day. The 30 minutes News will have local and international contents such as politics, sports, weather, business, entertainment, etc.
News readers who will bring the Viasat1 News are; Emmanuel Kwasi Afriyie, Nana Ekua Asanteba Mensah, Zenaida Morrision and Derek Worlalorm-Johnson.

ever since i realise there is a station called viasat 1,i fell completely in love with its programs.my favourite is americans next top model,goodlife game show.the one show.i also loved grays anatomy and clinic matters.am still loving CSI newyork and generations, not forgeting their movies like the kingkong ,a foreign movie and nigeria films like native son and emotional blunder,not forgeting with God.Kudos to the entire Company you are doing what others could not do.the documentories you telecast are also very informative.e.g wild life and living legends and also stars.continue the good work,for others to emulate.you know since you repeat programs for best reasons others have started emulating.
