A new event aimed at creating a bigger platform to congregate Ghanaians at one venue is about to be launched soon.
The event dubbed ‘Ghana Music and Food Festival’ is an event organised by Konsule Entertainment. It’s a first of its kind inGhana and it is slated for October 1, 2011 at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, La –Accra.
The event aims at taking Ghana’s most prestigious local and continental restaurants, premium drink suppliers and manufacturers; up market lifestyle brands and combining them all at the one venue.
In an exclusive interview with Kwame Obeng Asare of Konsule Entertainment, he told GhanaCelebrities.Com that Ghanaians are fed up of having fun the same way; which is either to go to the National Theatre or Conference to watch music or video awards.
He continued: “We are excited to announce the upcoming Ghana Music and Food Festival. This annual event will attract the biggest crowd ever in the history of events in Ghana. We expect over two hundred and fifty thousand people (250,000) to attend this festival which will surely be the most exciting event to be staged in Ghana.”
The event, he said will make patrons have fun at one venue with various foods and drinks at their disposal with good music at the background for relaxation.
The venue will be divided into three stands to cater for the main music genres i nGhana with wonderful activities for each stand.
The stands includes; GOSPEL stand (dubbed Jerusalem) which will be powered by Adom FM. It will be mainly for gospel music lovers with some selected Ghanaian gospel artistes to entertain patrons who patronise this stand.
The next stand will be HIGH LIFE stand (dubbed OFIE) which will be handled by Oman FM. This is where pure unadulterated, live band high life music from the 70s to date will come alive. Legendary high life musicians have been selected to perform tunes from their repertoire. At this stand, patrons will see colourful display of pure Ghanaian culture.
The HIPLIFE, HIPHOP & REGGAE stand (dubbed NEIGHBOURHOOD) will be powered by YFM. It will be mostly for hip life lovers to enjoy the tunes from selected hip lifers.
There will also be plenty to drink, as local manufacturers and suppliers of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will not be left out at each stand. With foods provided by food joins such as Papaye, Frankies, Auntie Muni Wakye and Heavy Do Chop Bar, Kenkey Boutique, Blue Gate Tilapia etc.
Parents can bring their kids along to enjoy the atmosphere as there are special place created for them with Bouncing Castles, Merry Go Rounds, Toy Trains, Slides, See-Saws, Bungee Trampoline, Swing Sets, Plastic Toys, Children’s Educational Toys, Electronic Games, Spring Riders, Climbing Walls, Ball Games and Horse Riding.
There will also be club sections as well as V.V.I.P. lounge due to the invitation of the
Office of the President, the Vice President, Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture, Members Of The Diplomatic Corps, businessmen and women, Members Of Parliament and some dignitaries.
The maiden edition of the ‘GhanaMusic and Food Festival’ is due to be launched next week. It will be an annual event to celebrateGhana’s indigenous food, drinks and music..
