The Black Stars meet the Super Eagles in an international friendly match at Watford Football Club on 9th August 2011. These two West African giants have built up a fierce reputation over the years and this will be their first encounter since, Asamoah Gyan scored to secure a 1-0 win over Nigeria in the African Nations cup 2010 semifinals.
Ghana V Nigeria match will be Supporting the following charities:
ACLT (African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust)
The ACLT founders Beverley De-Gale and Orin Lewis are asking for potential Black and minority ethnic donors to come forward and help stem the shortage of donors from these communities on the UK Bone Marrow, Blood and Organ registers and this is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the need for more potential life savers from the African community- www.ACLT.com
Mefiri Ghana’s WAM (What About Me) campaign

this match is going to be sooooooo boring and dry. it’s better to play nigeria on a competitive level not a friendly. i only like watching these 2 when it means something like in the African Cup Of Nations. this friendly is only for those nigerian organisers to make money out of ghana and help them move up a little bit in the fifa world ranking table. Ghana are not gaining anything from playing nigeria so i’m not wasting my £20-£30 for a ticket and then an extra £15 getting to watford to watch this match when we have played nigeria before and won and we will surely meet them in the African Cup Of nations 5months later.
@sue,please calm down we all know this game is not imprtant to ghana, this too early nigerians team is not matured to play ghana ,we need to play the like of spain, brazil and better teams not nigerians mediocre team .but we need go to give them our support.
GOD BLESS GHANA
MEFERI GHANA
@27 calibre, exactly i agree but i refuse to pay to watch the mighty blackstars play the super chickens. what’s the point? they are not playing for anything, it doesn’t mean anything, we’ve played them before and i paid to watch that one so lets move on and play some real countries like the ones you mentioned. countries like those you mentioned will be worthwhile and worth spending money on. it’s better for me to give ghana my support in the AFCON where it means something and we can knock nigeria out of the competition. we are always likely to meet nigeria in the AFCON so ghanaians won’t be missing anything by not going to this friendly, that’s my point, the match is just a money making scheme for them nigerian organisers.
@sue,i cant wait to eat my chiken soup this 9th of august..
i am going for my ticket ,ghana need to use the under 23 to beat this super chickens …up ghana
