I was not going to make a post on this simply because it makes me sick and it seems the prophecy adage ‘no prophet is accepted in his home town’ is manifesting vigorously in our Ghanaian society.
I felt a little bit ashamed when I came across the video and photos below of Hollywood actress Nicole Ari Parker forgoing all the Oscar Dela Rentas and going for a made in Ghana dress to wear for the 2011 BET Awards.
From the video below, you can spot how proud the actress was to be styled in the Ghana made dress and mentioned it loudly that it was made in Ghana. However, some of our Ghanaian wannabe Hollywood stars will go every mile to lie about what they cannot even afford, neglecting and shaming our quality made in Ghana dresses.
Is it not ironic that, actress Nicole Ari Parker can afford Oscar Dela Renta and beyond, yet she went for our made in Ghana dress and the poor chicken head Ghanaians who cannot afford Oscar Dela Renta have vowed not to wear a local print but a fake Oscar and throw out lies to try and convince us that they are rocking Oscar Dela Renta….
Last night, a loyal reader from Sydney also came across the video & photos below and sent in an email….

Hi Ghana celebrities!
Greetings from Sydney, Australia.
I enjoy visiting your website and love that I can keep up with all the entertainment news back home while abroad! Thanks to your site, I don’t feel like I’m missing out on news from back home.
I know Ghana celebrities likes to support Ghanaian businesses so when I came across the video below: I was excited to share it with you and your readers.
The video is an interview with Hollywood power couple Boris Kodjoe and actress Nicole Ari Parker at the recent BET awards.
In the video, Nicole talks about her dress, designed by Ghanaian designer, Titi Ademola, founder of Kiki clothing. You can visit her website at:http://kikiclothing.com/site/about.html .
Nicole and Boris are very well known actors in Hollywood who can pick and choose their outfits from an array of designers so it’s great that Nicole chose to show-case a designer from her Husband’s homeland – Boris is half Ghanaian.
I am sure yourself and your readers will be as proud as I am of Titi’s achievement. I’m always happy to see Ghanaians doing well especially on the world stage as it’s a positive reflection on Ghana and Ghanaians.
Thank you for taking the time to read my e-mail and keep up the great work!
Cheers,
Eugenia
