Blog: So The World Did Not End & I Nearly Sold My Car, Has There Been ‘Rapture’ At Your End Yet?…

Rapture

I am somehow excited that the world did not end on 21st May,2011 since we will all be here to continue with GhanaCelebrities.Com. On the other hand, I am a bit disappointed because I saw the ‘Rapture’ as a perfect opportunity to rip-off some Asian Dude by selling my car which I bought a month ago to him.

I was in fact ripped-off on that car deal by an Asian sales woman so I saw the ‘Rapture’ as a perfect time to get them back, sell it to another Asian and fly to Heaven…(Maybe Hell since I was doing a last minute rip-off).

However, Jesus did not come which means I cannot continue with the last minute sale since the buyer can come and find me later. I guess I am stuck with this car for the next 3 years then…

Did you really believe the world was going to end yesterday? I was bombarded with several E-mails and BB messages to the extent that, I began to fall for it. I started thinking about all the people I will miss and those I would have been very glad to be far away from in Heaven.

Contrary to what Harold Camping said, nothing happened when leading time zone countries like New Zealand and Australia passed the deadline for the Apocalypse.

Messages such as “Well we have had the #Rapture going for 50 minutes now. So far it hasn’t interrupted my fish & chips and glass of stout…” were flying on twitter from the above countries after 6pm to let the others know that, they were still safe on earth.

6pm passed in UK and nothing different than the usual happened. I got up early this morning to put my television on to see if anything has gone significantly wrong somewhere and so far, I am yet to see or hear of anything.

So I guess we are all safe here and the ‘Rapture’ has been postponed until further notice. If you are still alive, comment below and let us know you are doing well in whatever country you are residing within… 🙂 🙂 🙂

If you are in Heaven and you have an internet out there, let us know what we are missing.

Though Harold Camping is some 89 year old semi-lunatic, he has been able to fool a lot of people for the 2nd time. He has an empire said to have $18.3 million in donations leading up to the rapture,  and also has assets of more than $104 million, including $34 million in stocks.

He spent large sum of his money buying billboard spaces and printing millions of pamphlets to warn the world that the end is here, resulting in his  followers making some unbelievable moves like selling all of their properties, ditching their families and relationships and spending their own money to help with the campaign. What happens to them now?

Reports have it that some of Camping’s followers were still holding on their belief late yesterday and were patiently waiting for the ‘Rapture’ while others were a lil confused. Check out what some of them said according to Huffingtonpost.

Marie Exley helped put up billboards in Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon, and still had hope early Saturday that some rapture sign would occur:

“Some people were saying it was going to be an earthquake at that specific time in New Zealand and be a rolling judgment, but God is keeping us in our place and saying you may know the day but you don’t know the hour. The day is not over, it’s just the morning, and we have to endure until the end.”

Keith Bauer quit his job, piled his family into their mini-van and drove 3,000 miles to California for the rapture:

“I had some skepticism but I was trying to push the skepticism away because I believe in God.[…]I was hoping for it because I think heaven would be a lot better than this earth.[…][If I] worked last week, I wouldn’t have gotten paid anyway, if the Rapture did happen.”

Robert Fitzpatrick, who spent $140,000 (almost his entire life savings) to buy advertising on 1,000 buses and subways to warn others of the end of the world, said:

“I can’t tell you what I feel right now. Obviously, I haven’t understood it correctly because we’re still here.”
