Hello Chris-Vincent,
Since last year when I was introduced to GhanaCelebrities.Com, I have been a regular reader and I admire the concept, the work and the passion you guys put into this blog. I also love the fact that you give space to your readers to have their opinions heard.
I am a true fan of Yvonne Okoro and from various comments I have come across on the internet, I believe it will not be an exaggeration to say most African movie lovers are in love with her acting and personality.
The girl has talent, the looks and with the right people around her as well as the appropriate media attention, hype and relationship, she will rocket into the sky.
I would like to cease this opportunity to openly tell Yvonne Okoro that, she has the whole package to be African’s top movie super star. However, she must have a plan, a team and a strategy else she will look back and regret.
When people like Akorfa Ejean Asiedu and Nadia Buari came in, some of us saw them as forward pushers of the African Movie industry; today Nadia Buari is almost a lost name as far as big productions are concern. The movies I see her in nowadays suggest nothing more than an Actress riding backwards in her career.
Akorfa Ejeani Asiedu on the other hand has not starred in any big movie recently. Upon all her talent and experience, the mistakes have swallowed her up too. We learn from the mistakes of others and I hope Yvonne Okoro will not fall into the same deep dark ditch.
First of all, she should be mindful of the people she surrounds herself with. The managers, PRs and even friends. These people can uplift your career or crush it. When the latter happens, they will walk away leaving you alone in your disappointment and failure.
Since Yvonne Okoro seems to be the big name in movies now, I will by this email tell her not to surround herself with headless chickens as others did, a mistake which has caused them a dying career. Please Yvonne, your success depends much on you and your career friends (Managements).
Also, a common mistake which pulls most Ghanaian Actresses away from their dreams and fixes them to operate only in Ghana is poor exposure, promotion and lack of media attention.
Any music lover will agree with me that names like Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj are known and written everywhere because of effective media hype and promotion. Their managements are working with the media to get them into your faces even if we do not like them.
Please Yvonne Okoro, use every media platform available to promote your self, your work and your future.
I hope others are seeing what I have already recognized in Yvonne Okoro. I also hope big Directors like Leila Djansi and Shirley Frimpong Manso will soon see her talent and make good use of her in their future productions.
I am your true fan Yvonne and I hope you make it there!
Regards,
Suzzy , London
