Charterhouse, organizers of the prestigious musical reality show “Stars of the Future” that has seen the rise of stars like Irene, Efya, Bertha and Adina are gearing up to launch season 5 of the series.
The launch which opens the TV series is scheduled for Wednesday February 16, 2011 and will see the unveiling of the 12 talented contestants drawn from the nationwide search last year. The final 12 have gone through three rounds of auditions, the last of which was held in the studio with 30 delegates.
According to the organizers, the series skipped 2010 to accommodate the first World Cup held in Africa. After the games, organizers thought it wise to wait and begin the year with the series so that all attention would be geared towards developing the talents into future stars who will take over and own the music industry in Ghana.
Being the fifth in the series, SOF 5, is expected to come along with many more angles to give viewers 13 solid weeks of thrills and excitement. Regarded as Ghana’s answer to the American Idol show, Stars of the Future has become a relevant television series attracting a large following across the nation and beyond.
Over the years, Stars of the Future has become a platform for budding talents to tie together their skills and also realize their dreams of becoming mainstream musicians.
Stars of the Future has become relevant to the Ghanaian music scene and many of the contestants have moved on from the series to make a name for themselves.
With the sponsorship of MTN, SOF organizers are optimistic of the successes of the yet to be launched event and are preparing to pull lots of surprises even with the stations, both radio and television, that will air the series, watch out.
cant wait!
dese reality shows..hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……
but anyways it’s better than Mentor so we’ll take it like dat. Stars from American Idols hit Platinum with their debuts and go on to become forces in the industry.
over here,it’s the reverse. from Mentor to Stars of the future to Apietus Idolz etc, after the show, these acts vanish to thin air.
with the exception of a few, most of the winners haven’t impressed with their music. that leads me to ask, what is the problem???? the answer is simple. Management.a record label is supposed to aid it’s artistes to get to the top of the music ladder and stay there. they get songwriters to write award winning tracks for the artistes to perform.they make sure that all the ingredients needed to cook a gud meal of music is available to the artiste.
over here, we have executive producers and no record labels. lets not deceive oursleves with the tag record label thats associated with most of the companies.all they do is get the artiste to the studio, record the song, get the master tape to a duplication house, cut the tapes and CD’s and start selling.
until we start doin the right thing,we’ll discover the talents but they’ll go waste.
hmmmm AKWAABA
its way behind schedule, ginger up buddies
welcome this season will be booooooom
