This is not an official gist from the camp of Turning Point Pictures but I have been reliably informed that, Ace Direction/Scriptwriter Leila Djansi is set to shoot her next big movie “Ties That Bind”.

I have been contemplating about what could be next for Leila Djansi after the praises “Sinking Sands” attracted from various movie lovers and critics.

As a result of the superb work that was done in “Sinking Sands”, Leila Djansi seems to have created a standard which she has to beat or uphold with her subsequent movies. Can Leila nail it once again with “Ties That Bind”?

The casting looks great and I cannot wait to see what Leila will pull out of John Dumelo, Omotola Ekeinde and David Dontoh.

In “Ties That Bind”, “ Adobea, Buki and Theresa are three women from different walks of life bound together by a similar pain; the loss of a child. In a destined meeting in a small village in Kroboland, the women journey together to redemption, love, life and forgiveness as they renovate a dilapidated clinic for the villagers”.

Interesting right? Let’s wait to see how this turns out…

  1. Kind of a good plot, well who knows, Leila is a talented woman and tends to surprise us, and good for her to reintroduce David Dontoh into the movie scene, it has potential.

    • I agree the director should use a different face this time and not ama. Leila
Is Ama the only actress you can work with? Or is she the only one you can boss
Boss around? Why Omotola whiles u have potential actresses in Ghana use your own people

  2. Dis is wat I’m talking about. I glad dat we have real moviemakers in Ghana who want to take our industry to the next level. It’s gud some people want to do something different from the everyday recycled trash and faces thinking they’re the best in the world.I’ve not even seen the trailer but I’ll definitely vouch 4 dis one. The cast is superb cos I’ve not seen David Dontoh in a very long time and I’ll be happy to see Omotola for the first time in a Ghanaian movie.Dis is the kind of production John & Majid shd be involving themselves in instead of the same useless roles they always play in those chewing gum movies considering the height they’ve gotten to.

  3. Ugly BISH Leila. She is very arrogant and has rubbed a lot of wrong shoulders in the movie industry – If she was even beautiful it wouldnt have been bad but she looks like bosom akotere (a lizard) – Humility will take you vfar Leila – learn it. I live in GA (Atlanta) – i met u in Savannah many times and You are the most arrogant person

  4. It is projects and productions like this that make it all worth while.
Africa needs more people with Leila’s work ethic, foresight and determination.

It is wonderful to think that the best of Africa is to be intertwined with Hollywood, breaking down barriers, boxes and stereotypes.

My hope is we are as a people can get to a point where we can support our own. In the place of negativity, positive and constructive support.

I look forward to seeing Ama, John, Omotola, Nia and co grace the screen and bring to life this much needed to be told story.

I give kudos to Ama who blew me away with the vulnerability and honesty that she played her role in ‘Sinking Sands’.

It is refreshing to think that she is only at the start of her career with more time to reach her pinnacle in acting.

Talent must always be applauded irrespective of bias.

    Marian.
