Yvonne Nelson Wig & Lips

According to Myjoyonline and Nigeriafilms.Com, Ghanaian Actress Yvonne Nelson has been slapped with 1 year ban in Nigeria.

Even though the Actress is currently said to be serving 2 years ban in Ghana, she recently told NewsOne that she has not been banned. According to Yvonne, she has not received any official letter from FIPAG imposing a ban on her and therefore she is not officially aware of any ban on her as an actress.

When I thought the whole Yvonne Nelson ban saga was a thing of last year, she is in the news again for another ban slammed on her far in Nigeria. I do not get the direction of this report ( seems like it is the same Ghana incident being wrongly reported ) but if you care to know, then Read below for more….

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson is starting the year on a bad note after reports indicate that she has been slapped with a one-year ban by Nigerian film producers.

This ban, according to Nigeriafilms.com, was necessitated by Yvonne’s feud over the granting of some waivers to fellow Ghanaian actress, Jackie Appiah, on a production set in Nigeria.

There have been remours of a growing tension between the two actresses with Yvonne Nelson constantly demanding the same or better treatment from directors and producers meted out to Jackie Appiah.

Yvonne Nelson is reported to have ranted and walked off a set after she heard of Jackie’s waiver.

A communiqué issued by the Nigerian producers on the ban stated that: “Any director or producer who features her (Yvonne Nelson) in his or her movie would be blacklisted and any movie she does in Nollywood, would not be sold in Ghana.”

The Nigerian producers also indicated that, they want to bring sanity to the industry and also to send a powerful message to others who may think that they can impose their will and rubbish the discipline and professionalism that they have worked hard to foster in that industry.

Last year, Yvonne Nelson became the first Ghanaian movie personality (actress) to be banned in Ghana after series of complaints lodged against her.

She was perceived to be arrogant giving movie producers, distributors and marketers no choice than to use her as a scapegoat in an attempt to bring sanity into the movie industry.

She is currently serving that Ghana ban together with Ekow Smith Asante and Kofi Adjorlolo who have been banned for two years.
