Ghana’s Bundesliga star, Hans Adu Sarpei, has bought a $2,000 designer pet dog for Delores Frimpong Manso, aka Delay, as her 28th birthday gift and the dog, that goes by the name ‘Biscuits’, would be competing for the 2011 Ghana Movie Awards, says information reaching News-One.

Saturday evening.

News-One has gathered that directors of ‘Afia Schwarzenegger’ are at their wits end to present the dog for the 2011 Ghana Movie Awards.

When News-One caught up with Delay for a chat on the subject, she confirmed that the dog would be acting alongside known names including Fiifi Boafo of NET 2 TV and Oman FM, Kojo Dadson, David Akpaglo, Nana Boroo, Kofi Adjorlolo, Kojo Dadson, D Crime, Nii Odartey Lamptey the footballer, and a host of others.

When asked how come she got the dog form Hans Adu Sarpie as a gift, Delay had this to say: “It is true the dog is a birthday gift form a footballer friend but I am not sure giving the name to News-One would be the best thing, knowing what you guys are capable of.
“I love dogs and I have a collection of them but as at now, Biscuits is my favorite. She takes only chicken, biscuits and milk and has become a part of my family. I did not give her much training to act in ‘Afia Schwarzenegger’ and I am sure people would love her,” Delay noted.

Speaking of the production, Delay said she was the executive producer and had spent her life saving on it. “Buying prime airtime alone costs me over half a billion old cedis. I mean it shows on Saturdays just before music music and you can imagine what I was charged for that thirty minutes TV slot.

“We went on locations in Trasacco Valley and Ajiringano. The cost of the cast, production, costume, make up, catering is just unbelievable and I must confess it has made me not far from being broke but it was worth it because our TV audience deserve a good production,” Delay explained.

The storyline basically is about a poor Ghanaian girl who just retumed home from a foreign country and pretends to be a multi billionaire though she is a miserable pauper.

“It is a combination of fiction and non-fiction and each episode has a complete story that can stand on its own, yet has been woven into the next episode. So when there is the role of a rich footballer, you have Nii Odartey Lamptey appearing and when there is the role of a broadcast journalist, you have Fiifi Boafo. We also have a guest artiste every week and that is how come you have D-Crime, Nana Boro and several others appearing,” Delay disclosed.
