Our laws frown on rape. Consequently, when a guy is implicated for raping a lady, the law goes in full force to deal with the culprit. However, it is ridiculed when the idea of men being raped is put on board, forgetting that when a lady lacks sexual satisfaction, she is likely to test the waters with another man.
Testing the waters can mean she will either give herself freely or even force herself on a man. Those behind the laws of the land mostly turn blind to events when a lady harasses a man sexually. ‘Blackmail’ is the latest movie from Diamond World Production, the producers of ‘Beyonce & Rihana’ and ‘The Maidens’ and it digs into the issue raised above.
‘Blackmail’ has an ending similar to lots of movies but the director said all the stories have been told before. The movie features the usual suspects Jackie Appiah, John Dumelo, Kofi Adjorlolo, Kalsum Sinare, Gavivina Tamakloe, Dan Tei Mensah and couple of new faces.
The movie opens with a scene of a man and his girlfriend in a hotel room making love. The lady in question was the wife of Kofi Mr. Boateng (played by Kofi Adjorlolo).
The relevance of the scene is felt later in the movie. That scene depicted the fact that no matter how much ladies smell money and wish for it, when they eventually get it, they will still need a man to sexually excite them.
The basic themes for the movie are infidelity and blackmail. The story goes like this; Henry Koranteng (played by John Dumelo) gets an unexpected promotion in his office. He was promoted to the Board of Directors of the company. This was done by the new boss Lovida Boateng (played by Biola Egi) in other to get close to him.
A married Henry Koranteng was not ready to cheat on his wife but at the same time he has to pay for being promoted, though he doesn’t merit it. Under pressure Henry Koranteng has to succumb to the core demand of the new boss; which is to warm her bed, because she is not getting it from her husband.
As harder as the boss tries, Henry was not ready to play along. Like they say when all forms of persuasion fails, force must be applied, it goes that direction and it perfectly works here. Henry’s signature was forged on a document concerning a bid that he was in charge and for his punishment; he will have to be investigated, sent to court and jailed for years.
Lovida who happens to be a former girlfriend of Henry is the only person who can save his skin, so Henry started warming up her bed. He consented with the hope that it will be a one-day-adventure but no Lovida wanted it every now and then.
A meeting was organized at her residence; one of the workers (Fred Nuamah) didn’t show up so it gave Lovida the opportunity to sexually harass Henry. But is there anything like sexual harassment against men in our books?
Henry was now forced to resign from the company and live peacefully but knowing he was innocent, he stood on his grounds. But best place to settle issues like this is the court room.
Henry’s wife Nikki (played by Jackie Appiah), a young brilliant lawyer replaces the first defense lawyer when he was knocked down by a car. She stood behind the husband and defended this case to show true and real love.

seems like a good storyline.
I can’t wait for the movie. It ‘s gonna be a hit. I love u Jackie, John and the cast. The cast are great and awesome.
I wanna watch it bad.
Sounds like a nice movie, but honestly am tired of seeing my girl(jackie) play soft , victim kinda characters, i would love to see her play some badass bitch poisoning, killing, mean kind of role.
@miss dior, Please go and watch fake feeling Pt 1 and 2. She was very bitchy in the movie. I think the producers give her soft roles most of the time but as talented and pretty as she is, i think bitchy roles would be perfect for her cos she is extremely versatile. Haters can go to hell for all i care.
@Omega58, I think as an actress you should be versatile and not play the same kinda roles all the time. As beautiful as charlize theron is she played a monster serial killer beautifully and won an oscar for it, it will be nice to see her play the opposite of herself which will also stretch her as an actress.
hope its a gud 1..
I DONT REALLY FEEL JACKIE WHEN SHE PLAY BAD.I THINK SHE IS REALLY GOOD IN THE GOOD GIRL CHARACTER THAN BAD,ARROGANT AND DANGEROUS ROLE.
@elena babe,i agree wit ya
