From the day she was cast in a school Nativity play as “Angel Gabriel,” at 4 years old, Sena’s undeniable passion for acting continues to blossom. A native of Srogboe in the Volta Region, she is the youngest “gift” to Margaret and David Tsikata among five sisters and a brother.
Though she was involved in various community and school theatre productions, both in front and behind the scenes, Sena’s career began earnestly with her tv, radio and print commercials for Ideal Milk ®, Close Up Toothpaste ®, and Accra Brewery Limited’s Club Shandy ®, to name a few.
While gracing the runways as a Tetteh Plahar Designs model in Accra, Sena (meaning “a gift from destiny”) was invited to play the lead role of the hit T.V. series, “Things We For Love”. Audiences were introduced to “Marcia Mensah” and the acclaimed youth educational drama series went on to win the CIMG awards in 2001 and 2002.
She promotes social justice causes with the Institute for Policy Studies, a multi-issue policy think tank and is noted for her work as the coordinator of the Letelier-Moffitt Human Rights Awards. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 2006 where she studied Psychology and Political Science.
Sena’s diverse abilities and ingenuity have given viewers the opportunity to see her work as a script writer for the “Lux Glamour Show” and as a script consultant for the recent Ghanaian drama series “Fortune Island”.
She is highly regarded for her genuinely unassuming presence and acting abilities and can be seen in her first movie and upcoming comedy, “6 Hours to Christmas” with Sparrow Productions. Stay tuned for her next chapter!
