What Could Be “Behind” Michael Essien’s Long Injury, Pouring Out The Minds Of Some People.

blank

I have wanted to gist up on this so we can all share our minds, but have been busy with my  end of semester examination. Now that university is on 3 months break, be expecting more “gisting” and celebrity bashing from me.

Somewhere last month, I visited a popular Ghanaian Kenkey Joint in London and as I was waiting for my 2 pairs of kenkey, I over heard 4 Ghanaian guys “gisting” about the possible “spirits” behind Michael Essien’s injury. This is not just a mere injury, it is a career ending injury, the tall black guy sitting far left in his loud voice said.

The argument between these folks was full of speculations and unfounded beliefs; however some of their sayings had some element of pragmatism in them. One of the guys strongly argued on the lines of Karma.  In the nut shell, his arguments were that, whatever one does in this world, Karma throws it back at him. He said, Do you think after sadly ditching that pretty actress for no apparent reason, he will have the strength and legs to play football again? I guess he was refering to  Nadia Buari’s ditch by Essien.

Then, the issue of Akosua Puni was chipped him, the other guy also said, not only is Essien facing the Karma of life in relation to that actress, how on earth will he be messing with Akosua Puni when he is aware of all the alleged misfortunes that follow any of the guys who have dated her. Gosh, that is too harsh!.

As I grab my black polythene bag of Kenkey to leave, I heard the other guy saying, oh yea, what about his Dad? No matter what that poor man did to him, he is in riches and must forgive him and take care of the father, else his career will be on pause as a result of this injury. Who knows, it could be the “doings” of one of these people. Oh Ghanaians! That was all I said to myself and walked out.

After giving the conversations a 2nd thought in the light of our Ghanaian superstitious tradition in which we believe certain things are capable of being done to individuals, I decided to post it on here for further discussion. Can these 4 people be right in any way? If you think they are, who is behind Essien’s long injury? To some of us, it is just a mere football injury, to others, it is more than that. What is it to you? Essien is still on injury and a such will not be playing in the world cup.

  7. @ Brian Berchie, Kalos and others, did the writer say this is news? All he or she was sayin is that this is being post for discusing as it is the minds of some people. If you are intelligent enough, at the last end of the post, the writer deduces that, to him and others, it is a mere football injury and to others it might mean more, so we should share our minds or say what we think. If you have nothing to share or believe it is just an injury, say it and stop attacking the writer. I dont think the writer did attack essien or anyone in there.

Ghanaians need to be intelligent and be opened for discussion accepting people’s view in relation to issues of public interest. Some few dim twitted individuals who come here forget this is a purely gossip, entertainment and discussing forum. I hate it when i read comments here from people insulting others and writers just because they raised some issues or have said their minds. Some people think they are allowed to say their full minds on here but when others say theirs, it is all insult and nonsense. What happened to respect for others view and freedom of speech. The writer respected some people’s view in relation to their discussion, he then decided to share what he has heard with us for us to discuss it, why all these insults. Some Ghanaians are sometimes understandable to me, discuss the matter at hand or ignore it. I get tired of reading stupid comments which are not even related to the articles on this site from some few haters or less intelligent individuals.

    • @Grace Dufie, @Grace Dufie……you do realise in all your intelligence and broad mindset, you forgot to comment on what the writer wrote and attacked me for attacking the writer. That shows how stupid and ignorant you are.For all the points you raised, you could have ignored my comments and simply comment on what the writer wrote or ignore it like you advised and yet you didnt practice what you preached.U sure must be dumb.If Ghanaians need to be intelligent and broad minded,l think there are more 21’st century topics to be discussed than an injury to a player which is a common thing in football and then for an educated journalist, trying to attribute it some relationships and 15th century Ghanaian mindset is simply appalling. Please in all your intelligent mindset,Do think before you say something…..

    • folks lets be realistic and open minded.sometimes things are not always what they seem to be. injury is part of the game and it also gives other players the opportunity to showcase their talent and in this case Mikel Obi with Essien’s absence from the field. Lets not judge as no one rilly noes what went wrong in any of his relationship. in my opinion, every man born of Eve is a womanizer and essien is no exception. Lets support him and pray for his speedy recovery since no one noes what will happen tomorrow. Dont forget this can happen to anybody

      • @brian, does this site belong to you? this topic is a discussion for everyone to say what they feel about our celebrities so why are you taking it personal and what’s with all these attacks? why are you attacking anyone who say’s how they feel? are we not allowed to say how and what we feel? you won’t stop me from saying what and how i feel. by the way i don’t need to witness what essien did to those ladies, it’s all over the net thank you very much.

    • @mary j,

You can’t even spell “deserve”, psh. No wonder you support those who write non-sense about those in higher places that they can only dream of been.

Grace is that you posting under a different name? lol. Are you the same Grace that was posting on Ghanaweb that Lumba and Nana Tuffuor are better than Kojo Antwi?  You sound like 17. I honestly think this site needs to specify their target age group so ADULTS can steer away from here. This young boy clearly doesn’t have anything to say. You wish someone in your family has achieved what Michael Essien has done. How dare you gossip about greatness so blatantly in a public domain? On top of it from a “chopbar”? Weak minded creature. We need news of celebrities. Not Gossips. Grow up. That’s too played out.

      • @That guy, because you put the “e” there so that make you perfect? PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK, is that what you have not done before? pls no one need a teacher here on this site so if you think you are a good teacher, then go and do it else where and not here. by the way this is not about support, it’s about saying what’s in your mind and if you don’t like it, then beat it and look for the red X on top right side of your screen and simply CLICK ON IT.

P.S if you think they write nonsense on this site, then pls don’t come here again, because you’ll only frustrate yourself if you do.
