Ghanaian Actor In A Hollywood Movie: Greater Heights Or A One Day Wonder?

david Osei

The recent news item in the daily guide about Ghanaian actor just returning from Hollywood has kept me wondering – DID WE SEE THIS COMING THIS SOON?

The Ghanaian actor David Osei who is said not to have anticipated going to Hollywood didn’t take the audition seriously. When told he was shortlisted he was more than gobsmacked. David who is pretty new on the Ghanaian movie scenes has to his acted in ‘Heartz of Men’, ‘Kiss Me If You Can’ and ‘The Supremo.’

The movie ‘The Dead’ which is scheduled to soon premier in US, UK and Ghana is a ‘ Zombie movie about an American mercenary, the sole survivor of a plane crash, who has to run the gauntlet across Africa battling with the living dead’ as quoted by the Daily Guide.

David who is said to have delivered a ‘steely and powerful performance‘ played Sergeant Daniel Dembele, the local military man in search of his missing son.

David Dontoh who is also said to star in the movie is a renowned actor and already has to his Hollywood credit ‘Deadly Voyage’ shot in Ghana in the 90’s

Davids entry into Hollywood is quite impressive and goes to show we are breaking barriers, doors are being opened for the Ghanaian entertainment industry – surely we are moving ahead.

Would you say the ground is being set for Ghanaian Actors sailing to greater heights or merely a one day wonder?
