Folks, I have been busy preparing for an examination and as such could not bring you the celebrity spy in video. Several questions have come in and I have decided to answer them briefly as to keep the column going in the midst of my temporal busy life. I will put the questions, names and locations of the submitted individuals in red and my answers in black.
From Lynn, Chicago: Chris, Who do you think recorded the Confidence Haugen & Ayibe Edem Conversation?
Lynn, the audio i believe and know was recorded by Ayibe Edem himself. He has not deny recording his conversation with Confidence Haugen. He stated that he recorded their conversations which he used to exonerate himself at a police station during the heat of time when Confidence accused him of stealing her 14,000 dollars phone.
My problem is with the reason Edem has given as that which made him to record the audio. This was a conversation between two adults with one party uninformed about the recording. The fact that Confidence did not know about the recoding or did not give her permission makes the recording an illegal evidence to be used in an law court or even the police station.
I can’t come to terms with why Edem will think about recording it to rexonerate himself from anything at all since the recording becomes illegal the moment it is done without Confidence’s consent. To me, there must be more to the recording than what Edem has stated. He further claims he lost his phone with the recordings on and it ended up on the web.

To the best of my knowledge, she can understand it well she but hardly speaks it. I do not think there is any reason she can hold on to say she cannot speak twi. Try insulting her in twi when you meet her and see if she will not kick your butt.

Juliet Ibrahim has what I term “confusioning nationality”. She is a Ghanaian as well as a Liberian kum Lebanese. By birth she is a Ghanaian as she was born in Ghana, raised up in Ivory Coast and Lebanon. To confuse things, her Mum is half Ghanaian and half Liberian with the Father being half Liberian and Lebanese born in Sirrea Leone.

Love, we have answered this question before in one of our write ups. Essien and Nadia broke up ages ago. There is a rumour that Nadia Buari is seeing someone and Essien is out there with AKosua Puni. I cannot say if these rumours are true. Will hit you guys up if anything comes out of this.

Leila and Genevieve issue is nothing much to talk about. I do not even know how to simplify this for you. Basically, Leila Djansi was supposed to work with Genny on a movie and during the negotiation with Genny and her Agents, Leila Djansi for certain reasons decided to drop Genny.
As a director, she reserves the right to drop whoever she feels like on reasonable grounds. The delays in response and others I believe led to her decision to drop Genny. I have had the opportunity to go through the correspondence (emails) that were exchange between both parties and believe the best way I can summarize it for you is what I have done.

Of course Jackie can speak TWI……..She spoke more TWI than English in the movie “Run Baby Run”. I know she was born in Canada but she only stayed here until she was I think 12 years old and move to Ghana with her mom so she spend most of her teenage years and adult life in Ghana.
If Jackie Appiah’s tryna ‘brofolise’ herself and front like she can’t speak twi then she’s a damn liar…I was born in the UK and I’ve lived here for the 18 years of my life so far…and even I can speak twi….she left Canada when she was 12 man of course she can speak it….her accent is GHANAIAN with some words sounding Canadian so don’t understand why she would say- IF SHE IS SAYING- that she can’t speak twi
Appiah was on peace fm and I heard she didn’t spea twi there. She was born in Canada but NOT raised in Canada. Enti ad3n koraa ne abrofo -s3m yi ah!!! It is annoying in a way. In Gh today us young people try to “brofo-lize” the Ewe, Ga,Twi,Dagomba, Dagaati etc. It is a shame.

if she says she cnt spk twi n she can then she’s nt proud of where she comes from. av a cuz here in UK, she’s 24 n was born here n cnt spk twi. do u kno how terrible she feels, she even went 2 gh for 6months just 2 learn twi, she can now spk a lil. she blames her mum every day 4 nt spkn twi with her . she now advices da ghanaian mothers her 2 spk twi with thier kids as if she’s paid 4 dat….lol.
I find it odd too, that Jackie Appiah doesn’t know how to speak twi, yet her focus is on ghanaian movies, not canadian, british or US (english speaking) ones LOL….hmmm that’s kinda like me going to let’s say mexico, with my focus on becoming mainstream in spanish movies, yet I’m ignorant enough not to learn the language, but rather stay comfortable acting in english language ones, with not much room to expand my acting skills LOL…oh well, I suppose she thinks its not that important to take twi speaking roles or speak twi on a regular basis outside of working? Who knows……….sounds a bit sad to me though. I’d love to learn the language given the opportunity myself, but no one I know is interested or willing to take time with me to help. @ Kalvin. Of course she hasn’t told anyone. True. So why come on a station like peace fm of all places and not speak Twi? There’s a reason Peace FM has had so much success and the local language national broadcast has a lot to do with it.

Well I don’t blame her so much.If only her parents had spoken twi 2 her when she was young,it wouldn’t hav been a problem. As an akan I expected her 2 learn how 2 speak it even if her parents refused to. For me as an Akan I pride myself in how I’m able 2 express myself in twi cos dats my native language even though I live outside the ccountry. It also goes 2 the other ethnicgrps, for instance if u are a Ga or an Ewe it will be 2 advisable 2 be able speak in the respective languages alongside english. It’s not 2 late 2 learn since in Accra when she resides people speak twi a lot.
