Former President John Mahama Officially Declares Run For 2020 Presidency

The question of whether former President John Dramani Mahama would run for the NDC flagbearer race in 2020 has been definitively answered by the man himself.
Mahama has officially declared his intention to run in 2020, presenting his letter of intent at the party headquarters today, Thursday August 24th.
With the NDC’s primary season approaching, many names have started declaring their intentions to run for the flagbearership role of the party.
The big question has always been about whether former President Mahama, who was in power from 2012 till 2016, would run for the office once again.
The party is divided over whether he should run again, with a portion believing they need him to win whilst another portion largely blame him for the 2016 defeat.

Either way, with his official declaration it would now be up to the party delegates to make their choice but as a former President Mahama remains the frontrunner.
Mahama’s main rivals for the December 2018 vote includes Ekow Spio Garbrah, Alban Bagbin and Joshua Alabi.
