Akumaa Mama Zimbi’s recent comments on homosexuality make one feel like she needs to loosen the grip on her duku a bit because it might be cutting off circulation to her brain and making her regurgitate garbage that is expected from the likes of Foh Amoaning. The issue of homosexuality has flooded the news once again and everyone is free to speak their minds no matter how unqualified they are to have opinions on other people’s decision to do as they please with their bodies. But Ghana is Ghana and everyone has is free to join the morality police and impose their religious sentiments on the entire population even though the sins they themselves commit under the cover of darkness would make Satan himself bow his head in shame.
Ever since Theresa May offered to help African countries to make homosexuality legal, Ghanaians have been acting as if the entire population is going to be forced to chop each other’s asses whether they like it or not. If you’re not gay, what is your business with all that anyway? Even MPs are treating parliament like an extension of the church and vowing to vote against any moves to give gay people rights in the country based on so-called moral grounds, forgetting we are governed by the constitution and not the Bible. And because it is open season on the gays, Akumaa Mama Zimbi has contributed her two cents and is unsurprisingly homophobic.
Speaking on Starr Chat, the sex educationist described homosexuality as a satanic act that shouldn’t be allowed to flourish in Ghana and went ahead to finger men of God and Members of Parliament for engaging in it. “Homosexuality is satanic…God didn’t create man and man, but man and woman”, she regurgitated very unoriginally to Bola Ray, adding that “there are men of God, CEOs…and MPs who are into it.” She advised parents to educate their children at an early age about sex in order to save them from turning out to be homosexuals. LOL
