The wahala surrounding NDC’s Koku Anyidoho is far from over as things just went from bad to worse to the loudmouthed NDC firebrand could plausibly be faced with the death penalty.
Despite initial reports that Koku was about to be freed, he was instead whisked away by the CID from police headquarters where a crowd had gathered and taken to an undisclosed location.
Anyidoho has also been charged with treason, a serious offence which carries the death penalty.
The NDC Deputy General Secretary was picked up Tuesday following comments he had made earlier in the week about President Akufo-Addo facing civil unrest.
“On the January 13, 1972 a certain Col. Ignatius Kutu Acheampong led a movement that removed the Progress Party from power. Busia was the Prime Minister and Akufo-Addo’s father was a ceremonial president. Somebody should tell Nana Akufo-Addo that history has a very interesting way of repeating itself,” the NDC firebrand had said.
“There’ll be a civilian coup d’etat; there’ll be a social revolution and the movement is starting on Wednesday. He [Akufo-Addo] will be fed up at the Presidency,” he added.
