According to the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon Catherine Abenlema Afeku, Ghanaian dancehall musician, Ebony who died in a gory accident will have the support of the government but not a state burial as it is been speculated in the media.
Hon Catherine Abenlema Afeku added that even though the government has not promised the bereaved family of a state burial for their beloved daughter but arrangements have been put in place by the government to ensure that Ebony Reigns gets a befitting burial.
Hon Catherine Abenlema Afeku on Hitz FM said:
“That’s a misconception. It is a private family issue. We told the family that on behalf of the ministry, we will help give her a befitting burial and that’s exactly what we are doing.

“State burials are at the discretion of the president. That’s not what we promised. Nobody told anyone about state burial but the family is happy.”
Ebony Reigns together with her friend, Franky Kuri and her bodyguard, Atsu Vondee died when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a VIP bus on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
Ebony’s one-week memorial service which was held at the St Martins De Porres School in Dansoman, Accra on Sunday, February 18, 2018, was graced by a multitude of Ghanaians.

She will be buried on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at a venue yet to be communicated to the general public.
