THE BIG QUESTION: African Celebrities And Their Abusive Husbands—Why Do They Keep Returning to Their Abusive Marriages?

Chika Ike

Nollywood actress-Chika Ike has come out to state that she ended her marriage because her banker husband was beating the hell out of her.
Not long ago, Tiwa Savage accused her husband of beating her and even doing drugs—today, she is reported to have returned to him.
Tonto Dikeh recently shared her ordeal with the world, highlighting her own fraudulent misrepresentations. She also said her husband was beating the hell out of her.

All my life, I’ve never pinched a woman, let alone hit one and I wouldn’t ever do that. Yet, it seems a lot of men beat the hell out of their women. There’s no justification for any sort of battery, even outside a relationship.

Tiwa Savage

My problem, however, is that upon everything Tiwa Savage said about her husband, she has reportedly returned to him. The other radio personality from Ghana I know continues to stay in her abusive marriage and I feel Tonto Dikeh and Chika Ike will be back to their men.
The question is: why do these “powerful” women return to men who beat them?
