Rapper Manifest is really ending the year 2017 on a very happy note as his song “BEAR” is been used as a soundtrack for HOOPS Africa’s new Basketball documentary dubbed HOOPS AFRICA: UBUNTU MATTERS.
The basketball documentary is a celebration of collected stories from the past, present and future of Africa basketball counting the sport’s impact on the society and its development on the African continent.
The documentary films the journey of how basketball emerged and its growth so far on the Africa continent and also honouring the legends of NBA who paved the way for younger basketball players.
Focusing on basketball nonprofit Hoops 4 Hope in Zimbabwe and South Africa, this documentary makes visible the role the Africa philosophy of Ubuntu played in the Boston Celtics 2008 NBA Championship season as well as documents relating to the history of 2015 NBA Africa Game.
The documentary features Paul Pierce, Doc Rivers, Chris Paul, Luc Mbah a Moute, Luol Deng, Adam Silver, Dikembe Mutombo, Hakeem Olajuwon and many others NBA legends–the documentary in the actual sense shows us all why #UbuntuMatters.
The documentary was aired on NBATV on December 24 and 26, 2017.
