NDC founder and former President of the Republic of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings, says his party cannot unseat the ruling NPP in the next Presidential elections to be held in 2020.
According to Rawlings, current President Nana Akufo-Addo would rule beyond his current four year mandate and go the full eight years.
Rawlings made these remarks when the CEO of the EIB network, Bola Ray, paid a visit on him to invite him to the upcoming launch of his biography ‘It Is Possible, The Bola Ray Story’.
Rawlings, who has often been on the warpath with his own party since leaving office in 2001, answered when asked if he thinks the NDC would be back in power in the next Presidential election in the negative.
“These [NDC] people think they can unseat this man [Akufo-Addo] in 2020… After only four years? No!” he thundered.
Rawlings said so far the NPP government have ruled quite well, and if they continue in that vein the NDC should completely forget about unseating Nana Addo in 2020.
