2017 BET Awards nominee Stonebwoy says he has no need for any congratulatory message from his eternal rival Shatta Wale.
Stonebwoy got nominated for the International Act award at the BET, the only Ghanaian star to do so, and in the aftermath, Shatta Wale took to social media to claim he does not care about not being nominated.
Many stars in the industry sent Stonebwoy congratulatory messages, but Shatta has not bothered with it.
Speaking on the Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy Fm, Stonebwoy said he has no need for any congrats from the self proclaimed ‘dancehall king’.
Instead, Stonebwoy said he sees more benefits in being united than divided. According to him, they don’t have to be friends but the least they can do is be professional.

“We don’t have to be friends but we should also remember that we are doing the same business so if we can. On the professional side of things, all things come together to make it work – the rumours, the fights – but how professional are we about that?”
“At a point like this, I feel so happy and elated but I’m not filled with pride…” he added.
Stonebwoy, despite his call for unity, stressed that he has an accomplishment which is rare and which cannot be taken away – the first ever African artiste to win a BET award.
“[You can] disregard it as much as you can, only shows you are envious. That only shows how weak you are because that is what I faced over the time and I decided to keep mute about it and smile.” he said.
